Albert John SobushJuly 27, 1934 - March 6, 2011The death of Mr. Albert John Sobush of Bruno occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, on Sunday, March 6, 2011. He was 76 years of age. Albert was born on July 27, 1934, to John and Marie (nee Felix) Sobush at Wakaw. He grew up on the family farm west of Bruno and attended Ironside Rural School north of Bruno. Albert began farming at an early age. On July 8, 1961, he married Hazel Latoski at Dana. Four children, two daughters and two sons, were born to them; however, one son died in infancy. Albert and Hazel lived and farmed near Bruno until 1965, when they moved into the town of Bruno. Albert continued farming from town and, in 1979, started working at Hillcrest Farms. He retired in 1999 but helped friends in the area with their farming operations during seeding and harvest times. Albert loved the land and particularly enjoyed combining. He was also an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making benches and picture frames from old barn boards. An avid outdoorsman and member of the Bruno Wildlife Federation, Albert loved hunting, riding his snowmobile or quad, and fishing - and he would not stop until he caught his limit. Albert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of nearly 50 years, Hazel (nee Latoski) Sobush of Bruno; three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter: Connie (Gord) Sadler of Winnipeg, MB, and family, Angela (James) Bedard of Colorado, Carla (Manuel) Disla and daughter Isabel, and Scott Sadler, all of Winnipeg; Tammy (Robert) Hergott and family, Brett and Ross Hergott, and Arden (Jody) Sobush and family, Landon and Mikayla Sobush, all of Saskatoon; one sister, Hazel Neglowich of Saskatoon; one brother, Sylvester (Maureen) Sobush of Kindersley; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Clinton Sobush (in infancy); parents, John and Marie (nee Felix) Sobush; one brother, Edward Sobush; brother-in-law, Peter Neglowich; and by his parents-in-law, Paul and Helen Latoski. The Prayer Service for Albert was held at St. Bruno R.C. Church, Bruno, on Monday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m., presided by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Scripture readers were Marlene Charpentier and Maureen Sobush and the intentions were led by Hazel Neglowich. The eulogy was delivered by Gwenda Radomske.
