The death of Mr. Tony Weiman of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, SK (and formerly of Bruno, SK) occurred peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was 85 years of age. Tony was born on September 16, 1926 to John Sr. and Anna (nee Meier) Weiman on their homestead five miles north of Bruno. He grew up there and attended Hoffman School. As a young child, Tony worked on the the farm with his other family members. He married Florence Honish on June 3, 1947 in Bruno, and they lived on John Sr.'s homestead for seven years. After this time, they moved with their three boys about two miles northwest to their own farm site, where Florence continues to live today. It was here for many years that they cleared bush, establishing their own farm yard. Tony loved the farm and everything that went with it. In the early years, he was the "separator manager" with the "threshing crew". Later in life, seeding, swathing and combining was his life's ambition. Also for many years, milking cows and selling the cream was the family's bread and butter. In his spare time, Tony loved listening to old-time accordian music, driving his team of horses, watching western movies and playing cards and visiting. Tony and Florence continued to make their home on their beloved farm until ten months ago, when he made a final move to Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Florence (nee Honish) Weiman of Bruno; their seven children, twelve grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren: Larry (Janet) Weiman of Bruno and their family: Robert (Laurie) Weiman and children Nathan and Olivia, Ryan Weiman (special friend Amy) and her daughter Jessica, Janelle (Robert) Lawrence and their son Colten and Michael (Regan) Weiman; Ken (Melva) Weiman of Bruno and family: Jamie (John) White and children Kennedy, Tory and Ryden, and Blaine (Lisa) Weiman and children Austin, Logan and Deakyn; Harold Weiman of Bruno and his family: Lori, Amy and Karen; Helen Kachur of Saskatoon and her family: Jason (Kristine) Kachur and daughter Addison, Chantel (Nathan) Holinaty and daughter Ava; Eileen (Robert) Carlson of Saskatoon; Sharon Weiman (Lorne Kachur) of Marshall, SK; and Jane (Tony) Preston of Saskatoon, and son Zachary. Tony is also survived by two brothers: Lawrence (Corrine) Weiman and Clemence Weiman, and by sister-in-law Alvina Weiman, all of Bruno; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Anna (nee Meier) Weiman, and by seven brothers and three sisters: John Jr., Joseph, Pauline Strasser, Mary O'Connell (Sand), Leo, Herman, Wilfred, Elmer, and by a brother and sister in infancy.
