Donna Lynn Leslie age 59 years of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of High Level and Edmonton, Alberta died on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre. She was born at Humboldt, Saskatchewan on July 2, 1957 and was raised at Middle Lake, Green Lake and Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. After high school she entered the Military. She then settled in Edmonton where she raised her two beautiful daughters and received her nursing degree from the University of Alberta. Donna moved to High Level, Alberta where she worked on the Dene Tha' bands, Bushe River and Meander River. She settled in Shaunavon about 8 years ago to be closer to her parents in order to help care for them. She worked as a Community Health Nurse for Cypress Health Region until her illness. Donna generously gave to numerous charitable organizations and took great delight in assisting those in need. She was predeceased by her father Leonard Kirchner. Donna is survived by her daughters Jessica Leslie (Chad Jacobs) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and Sarah Leslie (Daniel Glas) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, her mother Julia Kirchner of Shaunavon, her life partner Manon Arcand and two brothers Ronald Kirchner (Sandy) of Onoway, Alberta and Robert Kirchner (Janice) of Dunmore, Alberta as well as by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held from Christ the King R. C. Church in Shaunavon on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Father John Mock officiating. The urn bearer was Manon Arcand and Janice Kirchner presented the eulogy. Inurnment of her cremated remains took place at St. Mary's R. C. Cemetery at Shaunavon. For those wishing, memorial donations in Donna's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or Pancreatic Cancer Canada in care of Binkley's Funeral Service. Binkley's Funeral Service of Shaunavon was in charge of the arrangements.
