SOLAR:The death of Mr. Frank Steven Solar of Humboldt occurred at his residence on Tuesday, November, 29, 2011. He was 60 years of age. Born on March 29, 1951, to Joseph and Mary (nee Shinkaruk) Solar, Frank grew up on the Solar farm near Carmel.

SOLAR:The death of Mr. Frank Steven Solar of Humboldt occurred at his residence on Tuesday, November, 29, 2011. He was 60 years of age. Born on March 29, 1951, to Joseph and Mary (nee Shinkaruk) Solar, Frank grew up on the Solar farm near Carmel. His formal education began at Dixon country school and was completed in Humboldt. Frank first worked with his father as a janitor for numerous Humboldt businesses, eventually he moved to Calgary where he worked with his brothers in the roofing industry. After 20 years in Calgary, Frank moved to Balgonie. In Balgonie, he continued to work in roofing and also began to work in warehouses. In the early 1990's Humboldt once again became home to Frank. In Humboldt he began working for Wheeler's in there warehouse until 2010. Frank liked bingo, gardening, yard work, cooking, Bronco games and playing practical jokes on his family. He was a quiet man who enjoyed the company of his family. Frank will be lovingly remembered by six sisters and one brother: Nettie (Nick) Sokolan of Humboldt; Doreen Pape of Humboldt; Sally (Paul) Lewis of Balgonie; Evelyn Solar of Regina; Morris Solar of Humboldt; Elaine (Vern) Lizotte of Grande Prairie, Alberta; and Irene (Grant) Nicks of Red Deer, Alberta. His twenty nieces and nephews: Ed (Sandy) Sokolan; Gary (Tracey) Sokolan; Ron Sokolan; Jeff (Natasha) Sokolan; Lynn Hrbachak (David Glennon); Charlene Pape (Perry Jones); Ryan Pape; Russell (Jaclyn) Pape; Liz (Al) Natrasany; Jason Lewis; Wade (Barb) Lewis; Cory (Melissa) Anderson; Crystal (Jesse) Rockarts; Gabe (Sharal) Nicks; Scott (Kristine) Nicks; Twyla Nicks; Lyle (Sandi) Solar; Wendy Solar; Jackie Solar; Metro (Sabrina) Solar; and numerous great-nieces-and- nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Shinkaruk) Solar; one brother, Ron Solar and one sister, Mildred Solar in infancy. The Funeral Service for Frank was held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt officiated by Rev. Al Hingley. A tribute to Frank was delivered by his family. Active pallbearers were Jason Lewis, Gary Sokolan, Ron Sokolan, Ryan Pape, Russell Pape and Jeffrey Sokolan. Interment followed at St. Augustine R. C. Cemetery, Humboldt. Memorial Donations may be directed to either the Humboldt District Hospital or the Benson-Hingley Military Museum. SCHULER-LEFEBVRE, Humboldt, SK.
