Grace SchoettlerJanuary 14, 1951 - April 16, 2011It is with profound sadness that the family of Mrs. Grace (nee Unilowsky) Schoettler of Watson announces her sudden and unexpected death on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at her residence. She was 60 years of age. Grace was born on January 14, 1951, to Victor and Tenie (nee Bilan) Unilowsky in Watson Union Hospital. She attended school in Watson and then enrolled in a hairdressing course at Marvel Beauty College in Saskatoon. Grace worked in many locations during her career, including Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Toronto. She was awarded the title Top Hairdresser in Canada in 1977, and also taught hairdressing at SIAST in Saskatoon for a number of years. In 1988, Grace returned home to marry Ernie Schoettler. That began a new stage in her life - and one that she loved: the farming lifestyle, complete with raising farm animals, gardening - both vegetables and flowers, canning, and cooking, especially Ukrainian food. Two children were born to Grace and Ernie: Tenie in 1989, and Michael in 1990. Grace's later years were spent working at Evergreen Country Home in LeRoy and Sarcan in Watson. Grace will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Ernest Schoettler; daughter, Tenie Schoettler; son, Michael Schoettler; two brothers: Steve (Marg) Unilowsky, and Victor (Pat) Unilowsky; two sisters: Gerti Sjostom, and Linda (Myles Hrynyk); brothers-in-law, Bernard (Jeanette) Schoettler, Jerome Rath, and Ivan Earl; sisters-in-law, Betty Burgess and Ramona Schoettler; and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The Funeral Service for Grace was held at Trinity United Church, Watson, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Jason Richards. The eulogy was delivered by Brent Unilowsky. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Grace's life." Active pallbearers were Curtis Schoettler, Holly Schoettler, Rodney Schoettler, Laurie Hall, Brent Unilowsky, and Alvin Fedak. Interment followed at Watson Public Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. SCHULER-LEFEBVRE, Humboldt, SK.
