POSS: Larry
Dec 18, 1941 – Jan 18, 2017
The death of Larry Poss, 75 years of Humboldt, SK, occurred on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at Humboldt District Hospital. Larry was born December 18, 1941 to Henry and Mary Aura (Geiselmann) Poss in Humboldt, SK. In 1962, Larry married the love of his life, Ione Washkowsky. Together they had 2 daughters: Carrie (Calvin Grant) and Beverly (Parry) Williams; two grandchildren: Nathan (Krista) and their daughter Ahri; and Ashley and her daughter London. When Nathan was born, he had the boy he always wanted, and Ashley was exactly like her mom. Uh oh! Never a dull moment! Ever! Larry’s passion was his family; many gatherings with the kids spending time getting to know them all. Farm life was all he ever wanted to do. He loved it. He was an excellent carpenter, mechanic, and anything he did, he did well! At an early age, his sore back and sore legs took a toll on his love of sports. Snowmobiling, skiing, volleyball, fishing, and baseball with the kids; he loved it all. His friendships were deep and long lasting. He loved lots and loved deeply. He will truly be missed. A family funeral service was held in the Chapel of Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Jenny Irwin officiating. Cremation with interment to follow at a later date. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary Poss, sister, Shelia Lux and brother-in-law, Donald Lux. Larry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Ione, and his two daughters; Carrie Poss (Calvin Grant) and Bev (Parry) Williams, two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, Nathan (Krista) Williams and their daughter Ahri; and Ashley Williams and her daughter London, and one brother, Kenneth (Dianne) Poss as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
