Mrs. Marion Jenkins, age 94 of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt and formerly of Marysburg, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011. Marion was born on November 9, 1916 in Marysburg to Joseph and Cecelia (nee Marth) Schemenauer; the seventh born of 11 children, three boys and eight girls. She lived in the Marysburg community almost all of her 94 years. In her early years, Marion worked in Star City at her sister's store and in their home. Later, she worked for a lawyer in Humboldt doing housekeeping and childcare. On September 27, 1940, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Jenkins Jr. in Flin Flon, MB. She gave birth to her first child while Bill was away at war. Marion was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her seven children. Bill passed away on July 15, 1978. Marion enjoyed 63 years on the homestead farm. Family was first and foremost in her life. She so loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always having homemade buns, cookies and treats ready for them. She took great pleasure in gardening, tending to her flowers and watching her birds. She was also busy with sewing, quilting, ceramics, crafts, canning and covering hangers. Marion's faith was important to her and she was a member of the CWL. She passed on her spiritual passion for the Lord to her children and grandchildren, teaching everyone to pray and to have faith. Attending mass regularly, she recognized that the Lord helped her throughout life. Marion believed that if you started something, you better darn well finish it! This philosophy was instilled in the family along with her positive attitude and loving spirit. Never a quitter, she was strong to the end with never a complaint. She would say with great emphasis, "I am so lucky!" And so were all of us who knew and loved her, forever fortunate to have had her in our lives. Marion is lovingly remembered by her seven children, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren: Carol Wetherell (Ray Linkletter) of Cochrane, AB and family Lana (Shaun) Mansergh and children Kaitlyn, Brooklyn and Jocelyn, Rob Wetherell (Steven Giles) and Kerry (Tyrone) Mellon; Shirley (Harry) Viznei of St. Albert, AB and family Aaron Viznei and Tawnya Viznei; Donna (Ron) Arnett of Chilliwack, BC and family Sandy (Eyas) Jaser, Michelle (Kevin) Zazzara, Ron Jr. (Dawn) Arnett and children Lauren and Nathan, and Charlene (Pete) Jones and children Wes and Haley; Donald Jenkins of Fort McMurray, AB and family Darcy Jenkins (Michelle Amiot) and Dannen Jenkins (Jen Bell); Harold (Colleen) Jenkins of Humboldt and family Chris (Tammy) Jenkins, Jill (John) Lees and children Jazmin and Trae, and Jeremy (Jill) Jenkins and baby Sam; Gail (Carl) Hrebeniuk of Lamont, AB and family Kendra (Trevor) Bain, Jamin Hrebeniuk (Maria Sellis) and Tegan Hrebeniuk (Tyson Bachert); and Pat Jenkins (Grace Mazurin) of Edmonton, AB; one sister, Theresa Frank of Humboldt; two sisters-in-law, Bernadette Schemenauer of Lake Lenore and Therese Schemenauer of Humboldt and by numerous nieces and nephews.
