GREIF: In loving memory of Philomena Katherine

August 18, 1934 – February 19, 2017

Philomena was born August 18, 1934 to George and Minnie Renneberg; the youngest of 8 children. She grew up in St. Benedict, Saskatchewan, going to school and helping run the post office and switch board. She met Walter there and they were married on October 17, 1955. Two children were born here, Robert and Ramona. They moved to Tisdale area to settle on the farm; four more children followed, Genevieve, Leo, Wallace and Sonia. Philomena’s family was her greatest enjoyment, especially watching her grandchildren.  Along with a small dog she seemed to always have time to spoil. Philly was busy in the summer with a large garden, canning and preparing for the winter. She enjoyed curling and bonspiels, and later this turned to bowling and bingo; and eventually to shuffleboard at the Golden Age Center. After Walter’s passing in 2010 Philly moved into town. This was a big change for her but she made the best of it making her new house a welcome home for all the children to come back to. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert (Judy) and their son Justin; Ramona (Dave) their family Ryan (Melanie), Warren, Kathy (Evan) and their children: Harrison and Hudson; Genevieve (Will) and their children Kaelum and Athena; Leo (Cindy); Wallace and his children Cassidy and Samantha; and Sonia and her children Dawson, Dane and London; as well as many, extended family and friends.
