Shannon Ann RobinsonApril 19, 1974 - May 23, 2011It is with profound sorrow that the family of Mrs. Shannon Ann (nee Kuervers) Robinson of Spy Hill, SK (and formerly of Muenster, SK) announces her death at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on Monday, May 23, 2011, following a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer. She was 37 years of age. Shannon was born on April 19, 1974, to Ron and Viola (nee Witt) Kuervers at Humboldt. She was raised in Muenster and attended Muenster School. Following high school education, Shannon took classes in Business Administration and in Esthetics. Most recently, Shannon was employed in underground operations at the Mosaic Potash Mine at Esterhazy, SK. Shannon's passions in life included nature and the outdoors, and horses. That passion grew to include barrel racing, team penning, and the rodeo circuit in general, winning her first saddle on her horse Scamp in July 2010, at Estevan. Shannon was also a director of the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association and a trained Equine Massage Therapist. She was in her early 20s when her battle with ovarian cancer began. "No matter how negative something was, Shannon always saw the positive and learned from the negative, always fighting for something better - a better run she would say. She had the heart of a champion." Shannon will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly five years, Jarret Robinson of Spy Hill; two step-children: Brooke Robinson and Jayda Robinson; her parents, Ron and Viola (nee Witt) Kuervers of Muenster; two sisters, one brother, and their families: Corinne (TJ) Morris of Sherwood Park, AB, and children Levi and Liam; Dwayne (Tracy) Kuervers of Muenster and children Mackenzie and Brody; and Kim Kuervers (Tony Eves) of Seeleys Bay, ON, and newborn twins Mathew and Damion. She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Christine Witt (1983) and Peter Witt (1984); and by her paternal grandparents, John Kuervers (2003) and Loretta Kuervers (2009). The Prayer Service for Shannon was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 5:00 p.m., led by Walter Sarauer and organist Marie Aubin. The eulogist was Robyn Rouse, and scripture readers were Leatta DaTerra and Robyn Rouse. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., concelebrated by Fr. Emile April and Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir and soloists Antonio Daterra and Deanna Oullette. Others taking part were: Robyn, Tucker, and Cody Rouse, cross bearers; Deanna Oullette and Laurie Cooper, scripture readers; Leatta DaTerra, intentions. Urn bearers were Shawna Bourget and Laurie Cooper. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Shannon's life." Interment will take place at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to either the Ovarian Cancer Society or the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association. SCHULER-LEFEBVRE, Humboldt, SK.
