BJORKDALE — The Bjorkdale Library Board organized a fundraising bingo night.
On Friday, March 22, the hall was packed with many people in attendance. There were a variety of prizes and because of the support they received, the Bjorkdale Library board is planning on doing another Bingo. The Bjorkdale Library provides a wide variety of programming for children and adults in the area. After school art activities have been planned with many children taking in these with instructor Beth Bentz.
Suncrest College held their annual awards and scholarship ceremony and local Bjorkdale resident Nolan Horn received a $2,000 scholarship for Industrial Mechanics from the Chernoff Family Foundation. Joey Tremblay received the $1,000 Community Futures Newsask Award for Business.
The Bjorkdale Skating rink will likely have there last week of skating. With the warm temperatures, the ice will begin to melt and the doors will be closed for the season this Thursday, March 28. The Bjorkdale Skating rink board would like to thank all those who purchased season ticket family passes. This revenue helps keep the Bjorkdale skating rink operating. This last year, many renovations were completed. The lobby bathrooms were completely renovated, the entire lobby was re-painted and lots of renovations to the players benches and the arena boards. The skating rink board plans to meet in April to go through the season financial operations and plan future fundraiser like the annual slo-pitch tournament in Bjorkdale.
The Bjorkdale Under 11 Bruins played their final two home games on March 19 and 21 and had their final game in Nipawin on March 23. The team consisted of:

Head Coach was Orin Bratton, Assistant Coach was Marty Horn and Manager was Nicole Goldsworthy.
