Bjorkdale News: School raises $670 above goal for Terry Fox Run

As well, the Bjorkdale School will be hosting a meet and greet spaghetti, the cross-country team competes, Little Valley Playschool is holding a trade fair and Bjorkdale Skating Rink is hosting a hockey draft.

BJORKDALE — The Terry Fox Run was on Thursday Sept. 20 and the Bjorkdale School raised more than $1,870.95, well over their goal of $1,200.

Way to go Bjorkdale and congrats to all the participants who ran this year and made the six kilometre trek.

The Bjorkdale School will be hosting a meet and greet spaghetti supper at 6 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 5 and volleyball game from 5 – 6pm for any parents and kids that want to play.

The Bjorkdale cross-country team was at Rolling Pines north of Nipawin and all our racers showed improvements. In bantam girls Rowan Currey finished first and Grace Mohr finished first as well in Senior Girls. They return to the Wapiti Ski Hill on Tuesday Oct. 4 for the NESSAC Championship. This will be their final race of the season.

The Little Valley Playschool is bringing back the annual trade fair! Mark down Sunday, Nov. 27 on your calendars. Anyone who is interested in getting a table can contact Nicole Goldsworthy. This year, Bjorkdale Minor Hockey will be running the food booth.

The Bjorkdale Skating Rink is having another hockey draft. Drafts must be submitted before Oct.11 and all money raised will go towards the Bjorkdale skating rink with first and second place get half the pot.
