Bjorkdale News: Skating, Curling rinks ready for season

BJORKDALE — The Bjorkdale skating rink got the lines painted and is now ready to go for the season.

A group of volunteers came and it took about two hours for the crew to get everything done and complete. If any out of town teams wish to book or rent ice please contact Nicole Goldsworthy at 306-852-9585 if you are interested. Rates are very reasonable and lots of available ice time.

Also painted this week was the Bjorkdale curling rink on Thursday, Dec. 15. A group of volunteers got all the circles on and is now ready for the season. Anyone interested in curling in league curling can contact Michelle Hamel at 306-873-1357

The Bjorkdale School held a winter feast for the students and community on Friday, Dec. 16 and had many people attend. The meal that was enjoyed by everyone who came that was prepared by the students.

This is the final week before Christmas holidays. The students will be off after Thursday, Dec. 22 and won’t return until Monday, Jan. 9.

The Bjorkdale Bruins under 9 hockey team will play their first home game on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m. The team invites everyone to come on down to the rink for a coffee and a rink burger and watch some local hockey.
