Man arrested after collision near Tisdale causes death

The collision took place between a SUV and a car at an intersection on Highway 3 south of Tisdale on Dec. 3.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested after an automobile collision resulted in a death.

TISDALE — A 36-year-old man has been arrested after an automobile collision resulted in a death.

Saskatchewan RCMP said the collision took place between a SUV and a car at the intersection of Highway 3 and Heritage Road in the southwest of Tisdale on Dec. 3. Tisdale RCMP responded at approximately 2 p.m.

The male driver and lone occupant of the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene, police said. He has been identified as a 57-year-old from Prince Albert and his family has been notified.

The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. The four passengers were taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

After an investigation, the Tisdale RCMP arrested the 36-year-old Kinistin Saulteaux First Nation man. He is charged with one count of dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing death and four counts of dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
