BLAINE LAKE — Blaine Lake RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Garret Gardiner, who escaped custody while completing community service in the Martin’s Lake Regional Park area.
Gardiner, an inmate from the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre, fled on foot into nearby bushland around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21. The park is located approximately 29 kilometres north of Blaine Lake.
RCMP are actively searching for him and are now requesting any information from the public that could assist in his arrest.
Gardiner is described as approximately 5'7" tall, weighing 176 lbs, with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a happy face on his left hand and a diamond tattoo on his right forearm.
At the time of his escape, he was wearing black boots, green pants, a grey shirt and a ball cap.
RCMP say he has ties to the Buffalo Narrows area, but there is no confirmation that he is headed there.
