Battleford Hillcrest Seniors sponsored their 20th Telemiracle concert at their hall Feb. 19 raising just under $1,200.

Eagle Hills Band, composed of Joan Harrison on piano, Edna Weum on guitar and Neil Smith on the fiddle, played their toe tapping music for a half hour while people were arriving and making their donations to Telemiracle.

Jack Goodwin was MC for the program, which started with the Hillcrest singers, who sang several old favourites. The singers were conducted by Doris Allan and accompanied on piano by Joan Harrison and keyboard by Phyllis Johnson. Other entertainment included vocalist Jon Sloan and friends and the Dwight Hemmerling group.

At the February regular meeting of the seniors, books of raffle tickets for Saskatchewan Seniors Association Inc. were handed out. These sell for $2 each and the draw for cash prizes will be held June 7 at the SSAI annual convention in Saskatoon.

The next noon "meal deal" is Thursday, March 22. Kaiser, cribbage, knitting, Scrabble and pool in the mornings are all continuing as well as the monthly pot luck suppers.

The singers have been invited to entertain at Villa Pascal Friday, March 16.

Hillcrest Seniors' next meeting is Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. All seniors are welcome.
