Activities wind down for the summer

Here it is already the end of June. How time flies. There were many happy smiles going around here after the wonderful rain recently. Now if we can just get the weatherman to give some nice sunny weather it would be great.

The activities here at Tower II are kind of winding down for the summer holidays. However our appetites for food aren't diminishing.

June 17, we had a steak barbecue. The rest of the menu consisted of baked potatoes, salads, buns and desert. It was all delicious and thanks to Harry Smith who barbecued out in the pouring rain with very little shelter on our patio.

Later in the evening we all enjoyed a game of kaiser bingo.

Thanks to Bob Sarrasin and helpers, a Father's Day breakfast was organized June 19. A very tasty fare of eggs, ham, sausage, hash browns, toast, juice and coffee was served. A real hungry man's breakfast that of course was enjoyed by all.

June 30, Second to None catered a delicious shepherd's pie dinner. It goes without saying that we all, at Tower II, think that their food is always just great.

Later in the evening we were delightfully entertained by the Rices and company.

June 26, Ida Baker had a gathering of her family to bid farewell to her granddaughter and children who are moving to Medicine Hat. I imagine you will miss them, Ida.

We were sorry to hear that Fred Marchewka passed away recently. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Fred lived in Tower II for sometime.

Get well wishes go out to Stella Gall who fell and broke her arm. Hope you will soon be able to take that sling off and be good as new again Stella.

Marie Day has moved to Villa Pascal now. We all miss her very much and hope she will be able to come here and celebrate her 100th birthday in September with us.

Have a wonderful summer everyone. My next report will be in September and I'm sure with news from all of you in Tower II. Take care!
