President Irene Greer called the meting to order with 23 members in attendance.

Projects for October included the "Humbug Bag" taught by barb Sealy. Three members of the beginner's quilting class displayed their first quilts. Ann Fylyma, Linda Wilford and Donelda Lang were justifiably proud of the creations. They were lovely. Well done, ladies.

The REQ's weekend retreat at the Don Ross Centre was held Oct. 27-29 with 11 members enjoying quilting, camaraderie and the sharing of quilting tips and experience.

Many quilters are now in the process of planning, sewing and some even finishing projects for Christmas giving.

Program co-ordinator, Pat Downie, reminded members that in November Carol Johnson will be teaching the "Route 66' and Nicklebrick" patterns Nov. 10. Mary Deshaye will teach many members how to make a chenille rug Nov. 17 and Nov. 18, Gail Bertoia will teach a class on making a quilted Christmas stocking.

Members were also reminded of the trunk show at Ilene's Quilt Shop in Unity Nov. 26. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

We always welcome new members. If you would like to know more about River's Edge quilters call Barb at 445-0486 or Irene at 937-351 or come to the club's next meeting Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. in the craft room at the Don Ross Centre. Hope to see you there.
