Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation's Festival of Trees is in its 16th year and again promises to be an entertaining, exciting three days from Thursday to Saturday next week.
The semi-formal Black Magic Gala Evening Nov. 25 seats 300 guests in the beautifully decorated Gold Ridge Centre in North Battleford. Dinner guests will experience a three course gourmet meal prepared by Gold Eagle Casino's executive chef Jesse Bosman and served by Gold Ridge Centre's staff. Dinner will feature slow roasted prime rib (medium to medium rare), served with a delicate rosemary jus and combined with seasonal side dishes, including the traditional popover.
Live entertainment will be the Doug Arden Comedy Show, billed as "funny, clean and incredibly entertaining." He is known as an outrageously funny ventriloquist, hilarious stand-up comedian and an astounding magician. His comedy show combines elements of all three entertaining genres and the result is a clean and wildly entertaining variety show guaranteeing a fun-filled, entertaining evening.
Fundraising efforts for the evening will be supported through a live auction, as well as the ongoing bidding for the seasonally decorated trees, outdoor displays and numerous uniquely decorated items, including a Father Christmas series.
Co-chairs of the gala evening Corinne Bernier-Delainey, Diane Dunsmore and Celine Comfort say they are excited about the auction packages they have garnered, which include a Waterway houseboat vacation on Shuswap Lake for 18 to 20 people, a kayak package and a beautifully decorated Christmas arch complete with an electric fireplace.
Proceeds from BUH Foundation's Festival of Trees fundraising efforts have been allocated to purchase medical equipment for the chemotherapy unit, emergency room, surgical ward and the women's health and birthing unit. These vital pieces of equipment will enhance the healthcare your friends, family and loved ones receive at BUH.
