Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation's Festival of Trees is approaching quickly with events from Nov. 24 to 26.

The festival of trees hosts many events, including the carnival and bazaar Saturday at the Gold Ridge Centre, North Battleford. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plan to attend for an enjoyable day of activities for the whole family.

There are a variety of children's activities including face painting, horse drawn wagon rides, clog dancing, pictures with Santa, plus the opportunity to put your creativity to work, together with your favourite North Star hockey player, to make decorations for a tree to be donated to the Empty Stocking Fund. There is also a chance to decorate your own cookies or win prizes in contests that will be happening throughout the day. Lunch and snacks will be available all day at Santa's Sweet Shoppe.

In addition, the carnival and bazaar is an occasion to view and bid on various items such as the beautifully decorated trees, indoor and outdoor creations and tablescapes. If you head to the North Pole, you will have a chance to view and bid on the delightful trees decorated by students from the community. There will also be a chance to win an item from the raffle table.

Proceeds from BUH Foundation's Festival of Trees fundraising efforts have been allocated to purchase medical equipment for the chemotherapy unit, emergency room, surgical ward and the women's health and birthing unit. These vital pieces of equipment will enhance the healthcare your friends, family and loved ones receive at BUH.

BUH Foundation's board of directors are very grateful for all the support and contributions from local businesses and individuals which ensure the success of the 2011 Festival of Trees. Thank you to Gold Eagle Casino/SIGA for their continued support as the diamond sponsor of Festival of Trees and to SaskEnergy for their silver sponsorship of the carnival and bazaar.

Each paid admission (admission is paid at the door) comes with a chance to win $1,000 Co-op bucks.
