Unity News: Time running out to enjoy the pool

The Unity Credit Union Aquatic Centre has been a popular spot for all ages this summer.
UNITY - Your hometown Unity U18 Cardinals are hosting AA Tier 1 provincial championships and are guaranteed to provide some entertaining ball games. This will be your last chance to experience ball games on home turf, so take advantage of the weather and cheer on your home town Cards as they look to capture a provincial title.

My husband and I have discovered through our nightly multi-kilometre bike rides each evening that Unity not only has multiple paved paths around town, the cut trails in various places on the field north of Unity leading towards the dog park are also great places for cyclists. Check it out if you haven’t already as it is easily navigated by bike as well as dog walkers.

Make sure you take advantage of the summer days to get your rounds of golf in at the Unity golf course. It won’t be long before fall will be upon us and that always brings the variables of how long the course will remain open. Support your local golf club.

The Unity Credit Union Aquatic Centre will only be open for another couple weeks before our student life guards head back to school so be sure to take advantage of your local pool while you can.

Don’t forget to support your local museum this summer. With a whole year of lack of opportunity to host fundraisers to keep maintaining and upgrading this fine facility, your support is even more appreciated this year.

Your local paper is back from summer vacation and this Friday, Aug. 13 issue, will have some great stories to read including how a local grandmother enlisted the help of her grandkids and revitalized a pioneer cemetery. The Press-Herald will play catch up on stories that happened while they enjoyed a bit of a summer break.

Here’s hoping this finds you all safe, healthy, and vaccinated. Until next week ...
