John Paul II Crusaders of the Month are Larissa Chipak, Cassidy Stynsky, Jocelyn Hrabinsky, and Erik Mak.

Four John Paul II students were recognized for their contributions to the school.

Erik Mak and Cassidy Stynsky in Grade 9 and Larissa Chipak and Jocelyn Hrabinsky in Grade 10 were each presented with a Crusader of the Month award at the Lenten Mass April 4. These four students were nominated because they provide an excellent example of service to the community.

Division III recipients, Cassidy and Erik, were nominated for their contribution to the John Paul II Mission team. The pair participated in the Peru Mission trip in February. Since their return they have been sharing their story with various community and church groups. Much of this work has happened outside of regular school hours. Cassidy and Erik are also very involved in our athletics program at JPII with badminton being the most recent smash. In addition to other pursuits in the school Erik and Cassidy maintain an honour roll average.

Larissa's nominator was most impressed with her willingness to reach out to others. The staff member noted that on many occasions she witnessed a deliberate effort by Larissa to welcome and include fellow students. She further commented that Larissa is a great student, always prepared and ready for hard work. Larissa keeps busy with her responsibilities as secretary on the SRC and is an honour roll student as well.

The fourth Crusader of the Month had multiple nominators. Jocelyn's extracurricular list is inspiring. This year she has been very active in three clubs: the SADD group, Drama Club and Key Club. Jocelyn has been especially busy with her additional responsibility as manager of the senior boys' basketball team. Her nominators spoke of the dedication Jocelyn displays in all her endeavours. "She is the first to volunteer and the last to quit." Each of the nominators commented on Jocelyn's pleasant and respectful attitude towards staff and students. Jocelyn, like her fellow recipients, is an honour roll student.

Congratulations to the four winners. The school appreciates the gifts these students offer and the model of leadership they provide to the students.
