Canada's Double Portion, a musically-inclined family from North Battleford, consisting of Duncan Hemmerling, his wife, Debbie and their nine children performed Nov. 5 at the Medstead Community Hall to an attentive crowd of 145 people of all age groups.

"It was an excellent evening," said Minister Terry Wicks of the Glenbush Mennonite Brethren Church, adding, "Everybody who has commented said that they thoroughly enjoyed it."

The first portion of the show commenced with finger foods and assorted snacks, while an assortment of desserts were served at the second half.

A table consisting of the group's promotional items was also set up for attendees to peruse.

An abundance of activities going on in the surrounding communities contributed to a slightly lower than expected attendance, remarked Minister Wicks. But overall, Minister Wicks said he was quite pleased with the turnout.

"We just happened to be in a community where there were just a lot of things that hit all at once."

Two of the Hemmerling's sons recently started their own band and will be performing at the Glaslyn High School Nov. 24.

After wrapping up their performance in Medstead, the Hemmerlings were heading to Calgary, Alta. for yet another show.

This event was sponsored by the Glenbush Mennonite Brethren Church.
