Up until today we have been experiencing hot weather for a number of days. During this time harvest operations have gone forward at quite a pace. Although we have not had any rain, there has been rain in some areas. Forecasts are for continued dry weather but lower temperatures, however we are to expect some frost this week.

Members of the Pike family gathered at the home of Debbie (Pike) and Kirk Munro in Lloydminster Sept. 3 to celebrate the birthdays of Randy Pike and Kirk Munro. Kirk and Debbie's family were all home for the celebration as well as many Pikes from this area.

We wish Kirk and Randy many happy returns, good health and happiness in the year to come.

Enid (Tasker) and Terry Christianson of Ponoka, Alta. made a flying trip to this area one day last week. They were in touch with relatives here and visited the church and cemetery.

Terry and René Pike spent three weeks in August travelling points west. Not only did they enjoy the scenery and events as they travelled, they visited Eileen and Bill Lamont at Salmon Arm, B.C, and spent some time in Radium golfing with Laurie (Pike) and Dana Kobes as well as their daughters Lexi and Nichole and their partners.

Gully Gus says, "A great deal of what we see depends upon what we are looking for."
