This thanksgiving weekend has blessed us with good weather. It is only 10 C, but lots of sunshine. Those who are still combining are thankful for the continued fine, dry weather. For some, Thanksgiving supper was held in the field where the combiners were working. Never the less, we felt we had much to be thankful for.
Lynn and Murray Blyth hosted a family supper as did Keith and Debbie Pike and others in our community.
Christine Pike and her sister Maureen Bexson of Strome, Alta. left today to spend a few days at Rocky Mountain House, Alta. visiting with a former long-time resident of Forest Bank, Percy Goodburn, and his wife, Hazel. Percy has been living near Rocky Mountain House for a good many years.
Christine and Maureen plan to stop at Viking, Alta. on their way home to attend a cattle sale. There they hope to visit with many more people.
Gully Gus says:
"The thing I prize of greatest worth
Are just the common things on Earth.
The rain, the sun, the grass, the trees,
The flowers, the birds, the glorious breeze.
And day by day my thanks I give
That with these common things I live."
