Fun day showcases rink repairs

Jan. 21 was a "fun day" at Waseca Rink. It was a great opportunity for family skating, a time to see the tremendous work that has been done by volunteers to upgrade the rink building and get the ice ready for skating.

Spectators, like myself, enjoyed watching the skating, visiting and enjoying the well supplied concession.

More work is being done, new interior wallboard, trim and lots of painting. Volunteers are welcome.

High school exams are in progress this week with the semester break beginning Jan. 30. Grades 7, 8 and 9 are having a ski trip to Table Mountain this week. It is good to see Waseca students taking part in the activities.

Chase James, Brody McFadyen and Josh Hult are among the players taking part in Minor Hokcey Day. As well as their own game they will be interacting with senior teams Friday evening. It is a good opportunity to see some good hockey.
