Also on Oct. 5, junior volleyball players hosted mini mega at the rink. Congratulations to Ms. Stapleton's junior girls' team and Ms. Crittenden's junior boys' team for winning gold in their pools. Ms Weger's Grade 7 girls placed third in their pool.

We would also like to thank staff, students and the community for contributing to both Senior and Juior Mega Volleys. Your help was appreciated.

The winners of the penny war were announced last week. Grades 8 and 11are the reigning champions and will be given sundaes as their prize. Yum!

Oct. 1, our school welcomed Kevin Brooks, who recounted his heart wrenching, empowering story of surviving a violent car crash and conquering challenges including learning to live paralyzed from the chest down. He is a truly inspiring person who passes on his powerful message across Canada hoping to make a difference.

At the end of this month we have a few things happening. Grades 10-12 are being given the opportunity to go see the musical Mama Mia and are excited. Also, the junior cast of The Wizard of Oz will be performing sometime at the end of October. Details are to be announced.
