Gardens and yards are flourishing

Crops and gardens are looking healthy at present. It has been impossible until the last few days to work in the garden so the weeds are looking very healthy too. We have been enjoying garden produce including strawberries and raspberries.

Crops and gardens are looking healthy at present. It has been impossible until the last few days to work in the garden so the weeds are looking very healthy too. We have been enjoying garden produce including strawberries and raspberries. The saskatoons are there for the picking. They, too, are very healthy this year.

Although the temperatures have been in the high 20s for the last few days, we have not experienced the heat wave that is covering the southern part of our province. As I write this a thunderstorm is taking place with quite heavy rain.

Many garden flowers are flourishing in the damp weather. The roses and lilies are beautiful. The hummingbirds are enjoying the flowers, too.

Guests of Helena Pike during the Janus family reunion were Harry and Lil Janus of Vernon, B.C. They motored here with their niece and nephew, Bernadine and Vern Babuik of Mission, B.C.

Christine Pike travelled to Salmon Arm, B.C. and spent a few days with her sister, Eileen Lamont, who was undergoing cataract surgery. Eileen is progressing well.

Maureen Bexson spent a few days with her sister Christine Pike. She was in the area to present the Rusty Bexson Memorial Trophy to the winner of the six-horse hitch at the draft horse show at the Lloydminster fair.

Maureen will be spending some of the summer days at lily shows taking part in the flower arranging classes. The first will be in Saskatoon during the coming week.
