The last of the big events at the golf course are this month. Sept. 10 the golf course is hosting the Annual Fun Day of Golf with this year's proceeds going towards the Unity facilities committee, who are on track with fundraising for the new ground floor hall and swimming pool. And Sept. 18 the club plays host centre for the annual Candace Heit memorial run. Pasta night in conjunction with this event is Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. in the tent, with Judy Warick as guest speaker. The cost is $15 and run packages for the next day can be picked up. All proceeds from the annual event are headed towards a memorial walking path. Make sure to call the golf club if you want information on either of these activities, or just to book a tee time at our golf club.

The routes are stroller, bike, scooter and pedestrian friendly with the start/finish point being the Anglican Church Hall. For more info, call Val at 228-4536

Minor Hockey registration took place at the rink Sept. 1 and what a busy night it was. It appears the hockey program here continues to attract kids of all ages to the rink to enjoy a favourite winter sport. Of course, the executive is happy to have the ice coming in earlier this year and to be able to host the first ever 3 on 3 hockey tournament as previously players travelled to other communities to partake in this event. Registration for 3 on 3 hockey is still on, so please contact the town office or Minor Hockey president, Curtis Dyck, to ensure your child is registered. So, like it or not, hockey is sitting shortly on the sidelines but will soon be in full swing for this season.

Unity School of Dance has held their registration night and will soon be on the streets with their annual chocolate drive, to help fund some of their expenses. As well, they have their annual monthly lotto calendars to sell.
