For the majority of the year, the boys were split into two teams: the "old" and the "young." Both teams attended many tournaments and showed consistent improvement throughout the season.

Old Boys' tournament results: Loon Lake - silver, Unity - gold, Maidstone - bronze, Edam - no winner, Hillmond - silver.

Young Boys' tournament results: Loon Lake - silver, Unity - silver, Maidstone - silver, Edam - no winner, Edam - gold, Wilkie - silver.

The Young Boys joined a Grade 7 league across the river and competed against Maidstone and Lashburn. They gained valuable experience and court time. Their skills and knowledge improved throughout the season and they will be a team to watch for in the future.

The Grade 8/9 boys were undefeated in regular league play, where they faced teams such as Paradise Hill, Turtleford and St. Walburg. They attended league playoffs in Turtleford where they finished first in their pool, but were narrowly defeated in the semifinals by St. Walburg. This ended a very good season for the boys.

Coaches Gary and Trina Deobald: "We truly enjoyed working with all these athletes. They are a great group of boys with heart and determination. We wish the Grade 9s the best of luck as they advance to the senior level next year and expect to see the rest of the boys again next fall for another season!"

Thanks to Jessica Bec, SRC president for the following:

The student representative council at H. Hardcastle School have just finished fundraising for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. The SRC ordered 50 shoeboxes for this operation. The SRC asked staff, students and community members to either take boxes home to fill themselves, to provide money for the shoeboxes and the SRC would buy items or for people to bring in items and the SRC would fill the shoeboxes for them. The SRC assembled the shoeboxes Nov. 14 and found that around 40 shoeboxes had been filled. The SRC would like to thank Northern Edge Tire for providing the shipping cost for the boxes, Charlotte Greening for delivering the boxes to North Battleford and all students, staff and community members who helped in the fundraiser. It was a great success.
