Hawaiian adventures include swimming with dolphins

It's winter break this week for students. Enjoy your free time. Some families have gone on holiday, so we hope to catch up to them before next week's news. I was pleased to see some pine grosbeaks feeding in the yard this week.

Our condolences to Betty (Tasker) Andersen of Puslinch, Ont. on the untimely death of her husband, Ken. He had been in ill health for some time and passed way Feb. 10. Our condolences, also, to their son Peter and daughter Liza and her family.

Keith and Debbie Pike returned home recently from three weeks spent in Hawaii. They were accompanied by Debbie and Kirk Munro of Lloydminster. Much of their time was spent on the big island of Hawaii. Their activities there included a bus trip around the island, a visit to renowned Parker Ranch and water activities, particularly snorkling. The trip around the island included a visit to the inactive volcanoes.

Two weeks were spent on Oahu Island, a very interesting place to walk, swim and tour and where whales and dolphins and other aquatic animals are easy to view. People are encouraged to swim with the dolphins.

Hockey fans, Randy Pike, Keith and Debbie Pike and their daughter Tara and grandson Xander, travelled to Edmonton Feb. 15 to attend a game between Toronto and Edmonton.
