Santa Claus visited in Waseca Dec. 1. He came to the community centre where he was met by an excited group.
The Waseca Heritage Group is sponsoring a Christmas celebration at 2 p.m. Dec 22. It will begin with a visit to the Heritage Anglican Church where the Christmas story will be part of the program. Following that, refreshments will be served at the Waseca Community Centre.
The Waseca Recreation Board met Dec. 2 to finalize plans for their second annual Fish Fry and Raffle to be held in March 2014.
Dec. 1, Renee Donovan, Sandra Sutherland, Shirley James and former residents Tillie Linkert and Mildred Benkendorf boarded the Garon Coach at Waseca along with other passengers from Lloydminster and Maidstone, for a trip to Saskatoon where they attended the Sun Dog Craft Show and at dark drove to the Forestry Farm to see the spectacular Christmas light show. A good time was reported and appreciation was expressed to Gary and Rhonda Bankendorf and daughter, Aunna for the exceptional hospitality on the coach ride.
Arlee Lumgair spent the weekend with her siblings in North Battleoford where they held their annual family celebration.
Keith and Debra Sutherland were among those who attended the Grey Cup game in Regina last weekend.
It sounds like people far and wide celebrated Grey Cup weekend. Kenneth and Carol Sutherland attended a Grey Cup party in Las Vegas, Nev. A large crowd were in attendance to watch the game and celebrate together.
Quite a number of people from the Waseca area attended the festival of trees held at Pine Island Lodge on the weekend. Not only were the trees on display gorgeous, but so were the displays of things being auctioned. The entertainment provided at various times was thoroughly enjoyed.
