Thickwood Hills Wildlife Federation is based out of Mayfair, but members are from as far away as Dundurn and Lloydminister. The group has 215 members of all ages from the very young to seniors. The club is also becoming home to larger numbers of women also enjoying the outdoor lifestyle.

The club is active in sponsoring one or two children a year to attend a Saskatchewan outdoor wildlife camp.

The evening began with hunters bringing in the antlers to show and be measured later in the evening. Henry Kelsey is the method used by the club for scoring. The winners are to be announced at the January banquet. There are various categories for men, women and different ages. Categories are also separate for bow hunting and rifles.

A photography contest had two categories - scenic or wildlife. The winners awards will be announced and given out at the January banquet.

People also had a chance to guess the size of a mystery buck based on a set of shed antlers.

Club memberships include such benefits as insurance and discounts from a variety of merchants. The cost of a club membership is $20 with each affiliate an additional $5. Families can purchase a membership for $30. Any membership paid and returned to Gordon Moore between Dec. 10 and Jan. 20 will be entered for a draw at the banquet To purchase a membership contact the branch.
