Jade Cole brings home four golds in cross-country

This season has once again been awesome for the HHS cross-country running team. This fall they have travelled to Unity Sept. 12, Wilkie Sept. 19, Spiritwood Sept. 26 and districts in Meadow Lake Oct. 3. The results are as follows.

Peewee boys were up against 138 runners in Unity (U), 131 runners in Wilkie (W) and 89 runners in both Spiritwood (S) and Meadow Lake (ML).

Peewee girls competed against a total of 106 runners in Unity, 92 runners in Wilkie, 90 runners in Spiritwood and 120 runners in Meadow Lake.

Bantam boys' total runner numbers were 71 runners in Unity, 70 runners in Wilkie and 46 runners in both Spiritwood and Meadow Lake.

Brady Deobald - (U) 33rd, (W) 24th, (ML) 13th; Ryan Bec - (U) 60th; and Tanner Long (W) 30th, (S) 21st, (ML) 16th.

Bantam girls running included 62 runners in Unity, 54 runners in Wilkie, 44 runners in Spiritwood and 50 in Meadow Lake.

Jade Cole - (U) gold, (W) gold, (S) gold, (ML) gold and Laney Blanchette - (U) 36th, (W) 23rd, (S) 23rd, (ML) 27th.

Ty Mosiman was the only midget boy from HHS who competed. He finished sixth out of 32 runners in Unity and fourth out of 33 runners in Meadow Lake.

The midget girls' group had the least number of students competing, with 21 girls running in Unity, 15 in Wilkie, eight in Spiritwood and 18 in Meadow Lake. Kesha Schaefer - (U) sixth, (W) fourth, (S) silver, (ML) fourth; and Macey Levasseur - (U) seventh, (S) bantam, nine runners, placed fourth, (ML) 10th.

HHS held their annual Terry Fox Run Sept. 16. The SRC invited the community for a barbecue again this year and accepted a silver collection to go towards the total to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation. The silver collection brought in $400 with the grand total fundraising coming to $3825.10. Congratulations to the students on an excellent effort.

The trip of the month draw was held at noon Sept. 30 with Bill and Elaine L'Heureux of Edam winning the trip and Doreen Blocha and Bob Hudjic of North Battleford winning the $100. Congratulations on your good fortune.
