If you love reading, then your local library holds the mother lode to an enjoyable pasttime.

Monday was especially enticing with the promise of home baked goods, coffee, tea and punch, fellow readers and books! Colleen Wicks librarian for the Speers branch held a Christmas open house. People were invited to check out the branch and sit for some Christmas cheer.

People came and went all afternoon. Greeting one another at the back table.

There were door prizes and a raffle. Winners of the teddy bear raffle are Evan Kachmarski and Joan Jackson. Phyllis Cunningham won a third place prize. The door prize winners were Cory Rudd, Jeanette Partyka, Esther Laviolette, Kathy Campbell, Roland Pelletier, Sarah Jones and Kathy Moore.

The Speers library has a good selection of all types of reading for any interest. If you don't see something just ask and Colleen is always happy to help with ordering in something to suit your taste.

The Speers Library is a great place to come and check out the local history of the community. They have a selection of DVDs and VHS.

They also hold a large selection of children's books. The holiday season is a good time to check out your local library and see all that they have to offer.
