Love Your Library event hosted

The Speers Library held a Valentine open house Feb. 13 with the theme being "Love Your Library." Adults and children were encouraged to hand make Valentines and the entries qualified for a draw.

Adults and children were encouraged to hand make Valentines and the entries qualified for a draw. Winners of the Valentine bear for children was Jorda Thomas of North Battleford. Elizabeth Langley was the adult winner.

All the Valentines were judged with Lilly Schell for preschool and Emily Schell for the six to 12 years age group declared winners. Other winners were Megan Jones for teenagers and Marion Wholburg, Diana Kindrachuk and Maureen Kacharmski for adults.

Librarian Colleen Wicks, with her helpers, served juice and Valentine cup cakes.

The cast of the Speers and district dinner theatre is busy rehearsing for the play, Pie Ladies. The dinner theatre will be held March 30 and 31 and April 2. Tickets go on sale March 1 and can be purchased from Ruth Foster of Speers at 246-4672.

Jam sessions, hosted by the Speers and District Recreation Board, are held the second Friday of every month. Organizers are always looking for musicians. Come and enjoy good music, good food, lots of fun and good fellowship.
