Nine rinks compete in ladies' spiel

Yes I know that I have not had news in for over a month. I've been a tad on the lazy side and not making time to get the column written. To get things caught up I should start with the ladies' bonspiel. This year there were nine teams entered.

Yes I know that I have not had news in for over a month. I've been a tad on the lazy side and not making time to get the column written.

The winner of the diamond ring was Judy Thom.

The winners of the January trip of the month draw were Shawn Blais and Jolene Sittler of Edam, while the winner of the $100 was Kramer Auctions of North Battleford. Congratulations to the winners.

I attended a meeting at Mervin Feb. 8 regarding the reprinting of their history book, Mervin Memories. Those in attendance were given information from Dave Warwick of Warwick Printing Co. Ltd. of Lethbridge, Alta. The results were going in the direction of reprinting the existing book as well as updating it and publishing as one volume. They are currently looking for anyone who would be interested in helping in the process of updating, typing, proofreading and contacting those who can update their stories and new families in the area to add their stories. Noreen Williamson and Lora Hunt are contact people if you are interested in helping out.

That is all I have for this time. Hope things pick up and if there is something that you think should be in the paper drop a note in the mailbox to me please. You can also send an email with all the details.
