Friday, Oct. 4, the regular meeting of the Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild saw 24 quilters in attendance. Twelve of these ladies had come early that morning to attend a class given by Barb Sealy, to learn how to make a "Walker Bag." Many of these bags will accompany "confort quilts" that will be distributed to various community organizations and care facilities at a later date. All found the class to be very well organized, informative and fun.

During September, a class was given on a "quick quilt" pattern using a "jelly roll" pack of fabric. Carol Johnson gave instruction and I'm sure there will be many more quilts made by those who attended, using this pattern. All were quite beautiful. As well, September saw several members attend a "cutting bee" for John Paul II Collegiate students who will be making quilts this semester.

Details were also given regarding a quilt class to be held Oct. 19, facilitated by Sandy Cook of Saskatoon. As well, more info was brought forth in regards to the quilt display to be held at the Chapel Gallery from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15 and a guild quilting marathon that will take place the end of November. There is never any shortage of activities or ideas for projects within the guild.

As you can see by the photos, the "Show and Tell" part of our meeting is not only interesting for all of us but includes a great sense of pride for those who show their projects, whether large or small.

We welcome anyone who is interested in quilting to join us. whether you're a beginner or an accomplished quilter. For more info call Carol at 306-445-4352 or Barb at 306-445-0486.
