Hi there! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and lots of turkey and trimmings to enjoy. Good food to share with loved ones at this special time is all that matters.

Many of our tenants either travelled or had visitors over of the holidays.

Barbara Foot really enjoyed Christmas with her daughter and family in Pierceland. I'm sure they would be glad to see you too, Barb.

Mary Dearborn was pleased to visit with her sons in Maidstone and a grandson from California. I hope you had a great visit, Mary.

George and Nancy Milnthrop travelled to Meadow Lake to spend Christmas with their son and family. I'm sure you enjoyed your time together, folks.

Edith Lockhart had her son from Buffalo Narrows visit for Christmas. This was a special time as they hadn't been together for 20 years. I'll bet you had lots of catching up to do, Edith.

Murray and Bev McCrimmon were happy to spend Christmas with thier son and family in Lacombe, Alta.

Anne Loades was glad to have her son from Edmonton to stay with her for a few days over Christmas. Hope you have a nice visit, Anne.

Mildred Kleiv spent Christmas with her son and his family in Bonnyville, Alta. Bet you had a good time together, Mildred.

Helen Blackstock, with her son, travelled to be with her daughter and family on Christmas at their acreage near Saskatoon. I'm sure you enjoyed your visit, Helen.

Ada Pasutto and her daughters, Marina from Lloydminster, Joy from Paradise Valley, Alta. and Carol from Battleford, all came to spend Christmas with their dad, Mario, who resides at River Heights Lodge. I can only imagine how glad he would be to have his family around him at Christmas.

Shirley Tebay, a new resident here, enjoyed her Christmas with her sons, one from Metinota and the other from the farm. Her grandson came to visit from Portage, Man. as well. Hope you all had a great time together, Shirley.

Mary Birch had a nice visit with her daughter at Jackfish Lake for Christmas. Then she enjoyed seeing her grandchildren in drama at Unity. Bet they were glad to see Grandma there too, Mary.

Bep Wyatt, also a new resident, spent her Christmas with many of her family here in North Battleford. It's so nice to be together for Christmas.

Dec. 17, a Christmas bingo was enjoyed by many. Monetary prizes were given out to winners and a delicious lunch was served afterward.

Dec. 30, we had a lovely afternoon of Norwegian Whist in the lounge. This was put on by Bev McCrimmon and Shirley Tebay, two of our new residents who belong to the Sons of Norway. There was a wonderful turnout from our tower and from Tower I and many other areas. Monetary prizes were given out to the winners. Then a bountiful lunch was provided. It was also nice to visit and meet different people over a cup of coffee.

Our sincere sympathy goes out to Ron Crush and family on the loss of their mother. Dorothy Crush was a resident in our tower for many years. She will be greatly missed.

Welcome to all our newcomers. We've had quite a few moving in recently. I don't know everyone by name yet, but hope to in the near future. Our different activities are starting after the New Year, so hope to see you then.

Get well wishes go out to anyone who is feeling under the weather. Hope you will soon be fine again.

That's all the news for 2011. Be with you in 2012.

Happy, healthy New Year to you all.
