Summer stories to be told

Hi, there! Here we are into fall again with all its beautiful colours. Do hope the winds don't blow off all the leaves before we enjoy them to their full capacity.

There is always something going on in our tower and September was no exception.

On Monday, Sept. 16, we celebrated our birthday party for July, August and September. Unfortunately, there were several missing, but seated at the head table were, for July, Martha Spielman and Cecile Dupris, for August, Anne Ewanchuk and, for September, there were David Roth, Nancy Milnthorp and Phyllis Bec. Congratulations and best wishes go out to you all.

We were also happy to have Russell Lahti entertain us with his wonderful voice accompanied on the keyboard. He had quite a repertoire of our favourite songs, which we all enjoyed.

We had a garage sale in September. Many of our tenants had their own tables selling a variety of things including some tasty baking. A raffle for a cake was held and this was won by Joan Blixrud's daughter. Coffee and donuts were also sold. Money raised from these things was given to the air ambulance to help them in their service to all of us. A very worthy clause.

Ann Ewanchuk's summer was very busy, interesting, happy and sad. She reports that with 11 other tenants from Tower II, she visited Frenchman's Butte and the Von Imoff's Art Legacy, every so interesting and beautiful.

She attended the Saskatchewan Hospital 100 year anniversary reunion. This is where her sister Nellie Spac and brother Johnny Spac worked.

Anne is very grateful to joycer George for being her friend and chauffeur for three days. Cypress Hill, Alta. was lovely scenery for the Wawryk reunion (the husband's side of the family). There was lots of good food and it was wonderful to see many relatives from a distance.

Ann had a surprise birthday party put on by granddaughter RoxAnne Jordan. Ann's great grandchildren, twins Jazzlyn and Jayden Bourelle graduated from Grade 12. A very happy birthday, her third, for Ann's great granddaughter Callie Ewanchuk of Lloydminster.

Funerals were sad occasions which Ann attended for Adam Ferrasa, Olga Ruzesky, Michael Mischuk, Vivian Bertsch and Orlea Tyler.

Ann is very grateful to her daughter Erinka for attending to her volunteer help with her arthritis problems.

Welcome to all newcomers who have moved into the tower. We hope you join us for coffee in the main lounge. There's also cards, shuffleboard and crafts to attend if you wish.

Get well wishes go out to anyone who has been hospitalized or just not feeling well. Hope you will all soon be better.

That's all for now. Halloween will soon be here, so hopefully it will be nice weather for the children (no snow).
