Taste of autumn in the air

The last few days the air has had an "autumn" feel. The days are already much shorter, the birds are flocking and some have already gone. As one travels the area some fields have been swathed and the odd field has been combined.

The last few days the air has had an "autumn" feel. The days are already much shorter, the birds are flocking and some have already gone. As one travels the area some fields have been swathed and the odd field has been combined. It will be a little while yet before combining is general.

Along with the feeling of "fall" in the air comes the beginning of a new year of school for young people. Wednesday will be the first day of school for students but teachers have been preparing in the classroom for some time. We wish them all a happy and fruitful year!

The holidays have many happy memories for many people. It has been a busy summer for Antonyna and Wayne Ottison and family. Antonya's mother, Svetlana Cekaschenko from Odessa, Ukraine spent the month of July visiting with them. She enjoyed every aspect of life here, joining in with home activities such as gardening, taking care of other yard activities and work in the home. The family spent a week on a trip to Banff where they enjoyed the scenery, the hotsprings and hiking trails, enjoying nature. They also spent time with Wayne's parents at Turtle Lake.

Svetlana is looking forward to a much longer visit next summer.
