North Battleford Housing Authority and Battleford Housing Authority have named the 2013 Yard Pride Contest winners.
Both housing authorities hold annual yard pride contests to celebrate and encourage excellence in yard care, according to NBHA manager Jeremy Reynoldson.
"So many of our tenants have wonderful yards and we like to acknowledge the time and effort they put into caring for their yards," he said.
Monthly winners are selected throughout June, July and August. From those winners, grand prize winners are then selected and share in more than $800 in prizes.
In North Battleford, grand prize winners were Carrie Day, Heather Green, Grace Claughton, Melissa Moosomin and Grant Sayers
In Battleford, the grand prize winners were Greg Lavallee and Fern Holmes, Barb Pambrun and Perry Soonias, Melody Payne, Tracey Antoine and Sandra Bjerkness.
"Yard care in both Battleford and North Battleford was again excellent in 2013," said Reynoldson. "In fact, it was quite a challenge selecting our winners as so many of our tenants really excelled this year," he said
NBHA and BHA exist to ensure, on behalf of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, that adequate, affordable, and well-maintained housing is accessible to all residents of the Battlefords. NBHA manages 623 rental units in both communities.
