Three new residents welcomed

An enjoyable summer is upon us again. It is good to see the gardens and flowers growing so nicely. Many residents are away enjoying travel or family arriving from quite far away.

We appreciate the donations of fresh rhubarb and other garden produce so generously given.

A warm welcome to three new residents. May you each enjoy life in your new home in our tower.

Dorreen Svare enjoyed a holiday during June. She went to Prince George, B.C. to visit her daughter, Laurae Tessmer and family. On her way home, she stopped at Spruce Grove, Alta. to spend time with family there.

June 22, many folks enjoyed the party celebrating the birthdays of those born in June and July. Dancing was enjoyed to the country and western tunes played by the swinging grandpas from Tramping Lake and area. In June, happy birthday to Dixie Kuhn, Gabrielle Beloin, Karen Taylor, Betty Moore, Richard Chuhaniuk and Roy Hrabia. In July regards to Julie Roberton, Doug Pruden, Ruth Hrynewich, Clem Sander, Madeleine Blouin, Lydia Litchfield and Calvin Wall.

Joyce Campbell happily travelled to Moose Jaw to attend the wedding of a granddaugher there.

June 24 saw a shuffleboard tournament being enjoyed. Twelve teams took part. Players and spectators alike enjoyed a dinner of cold cuts and salad provided by Dorreen Svare and helpers. Joan Bannerman took care of the board and score sheet. Referees were Alice Horn and Phyllis Maloney. Winners and runners up in each event are: A event - Ray Ouellette and Karen Taylor, Dorreen Svare and Olga Gresiuk; B event - Winnie Hamm and Muriel Johnson, Lillian Leduc and Eva Stevenot; C event - Phyllis Maloney and Ken Elliott, Joyce Milnthorp and Raphael Kalischuk; D event - Lise Watch and Ken Gagne, Betty Moore and Emily Murray
