Travel club tours Italy

It has been an eventful two weeks back from the Easter break. Over the break the Maidstone High School travel club went on an eventful, exciting 10- day tour of Italy and Greece. It was a great once in a lifetime experience.

It has been an eventful two weeks back from the Easter break. Over the break the Maidstone High School travel club went on an eventful, exciting 10- day tour of Italy and Greece. It was a great once in a lifetime experience.

SADD members also be travelled to Edmonton last weekend for the annual Canadian Youth Against Impaired Driving Conference, where they got to attend presentations by many moving speakers.

Senior and junior badminton have also recently finished. Last weekend senior and junior badminton players played in our annual Mega Birdie Badminton Tournament. This week, we sent our senior and junior badminton players to badminton divisions. Many of our students advanced to districts April 27 and 28, but unfortunately none of them advanced.

With the end of one sport comes the beginning of another. Track has recently started up and in two weeks our track athletes will be going to divisions.

Last week our Grade 9 and 10 students attended the Young Leaders Symposium in Lashburn where they got to share leadership ideas and saw a presentation by Ian Chisholm. Last Friday, the Leadership 30 class held an informative Anti-Bullying Presentation for Grades K-12. It was also pink shirt day to show support in the fight against bullying and about 90 percent of the school was dressed in pink.

Later in May, our school will be hosting the battle of the bands. Bands from our area will be coming to our school to compete against other bands. That afternoon our SLC is organizing a talent show, showcasing talent form our school. They will be serving pastries and desserts as well as tea and coffee. Anyone is welcome to attend.
