There was one hockey team still playing at last week's deadline. The Bantams played North Battleford for their league title game. After winning a decisive shutout victory in game one, they travelled back to North Battleford March 28 and even though the game was intense, the Unity Bantam Lazers captured the league championship title for the second year in a row. One interesting note from the four league championships I reported on, was that two families had all three of their boys in their respective divisions win league championship titles this year. The Timmerman family - Colton with Midget A Stallards, Rhett with Bantam Lazers and Joel with Atom Lazers - and the Bertoia family with Dawson on the Midget AA Lazers, Brandt on the Bantam Lazers and Jaxon on the Atom Lazers.

Coffee row folk have been actively discussing the upcoming growing season with speculation on additional moisture before seeding will get under way.
