The 12th annual Northern Lights bluegrass festival will take place Aug. 18-20 at the Ness Creek site.

The lineup this year features Grammy-winner Dom Flemons of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, along with a number of Canadian performers. Included are The Foggy Hogtown Boys, the Slocan Ramblers, Kiera Dall’Osto, Sierra Noble, Nadine and Sammy, the Ryan McNally Band, and the Amundson Family Band. Irvin Amundson will perform gospel on Sunday morning.

The festival begins with a music camp, taking place from Aug. 14 to 18, which offers instruction from some of the festival’s performers.

The acts will then begin performing on Aug. 18.

Attending the music camp is no longer available, but there are still passes available for the weekend.

There are no beer gardens and liquor must remain at campsites.

Norm Lalonde, promotion committee member, said informal jam sessions around a campfire after performances is where the magic really happens.
