The Asante Children's Choir, a Christian children's choir from Uganda, will be performing at Trinity Baptist Church, 1702 - 16th St. North Battleford Sunday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m.

The Asante Children's Choir is dedicated to spreading love, hope and joy while raising awareness for the desperate plight of orphans and other vulnerable children. Their colourful clothing, pounding drums and sweet voices demonstrate their hope and dream for a brighter future. Their inspirational stories of resilience have instilled hope in the hearts of all those who have seen them perform.

The purpose of the choir is for the children to share God’s love with audiences through song, dance and testimonies of what God has done in their lives.

The goal of the choir is to encourage audiences by showing them that, despite the desolate circumstances the children come from, they have beauty, dignity, hope and unlimited potential.

The choir also raises awareness about the needs of children in Africa and encourages audiences to participate in Asante’s vision of creating environments where children and those most in need can be given hope for a better future and the tools to make that future a reality.

The Asante Children’s choir is made up of talented children who love to sing and dance, giving praise and worship to God. Most of the children in the choir are orphans, while some come from homes devastated by HIV/AIDS.

The East African region has overcome incredible challenges to be where it is today. Now the Asante children are travelling the world telling this story.

The choir presentations are a great source of healing and encouragement for the children. The children perform in churches, schools and other public places raising awareness about the issues that Africa faces today and giving thanks for the great steps that have been made.
