The Battlefords Art Club is preparing for its annual fall show and sale entitled "Sparkle With Art" on Friday Nov. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chapel Gallery.

As the editor of the local paper, there's been many times where I pop into the office in the evenings when everyone has gone home, just so I can get some additional work done. It's actually peaceful.

A blip on the map. One of those little "blink and you miss it" towns, St. Louis, south of Prince Albert, doesn't seem like a place with dozens of tales to tell.

It's an old home, very old in fact. Built in 1912 during the Edwardian era, this crisp white cottage-style home in the heart of Humboldt, near wispy fields and railway tracks, probably has many stories to tell, if walls could talk.

As a society, we like to tell people that it's always best to follow your dreams and do what you love. It's good advice, but unfortunately lots of people end up with careers that are more work than joy.

Many of you know the property. It's about 20 km outside Humboldt, along Highway 5 East, just outside St. Gregor.

The Downtown North Battleford organization has unveiled a new art display on 101st Street in a bid to inject new life into the city's core. The venue for the display is 1132 - 101st St., a building that used to be occupied by Speer's Flooring.

Another runaway hit. Last week, the popular Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) was in town, holding auditions and subsequent rehearsals for its rendition of The Secret Garden.

The time for mutant-sized pumpkins and seed-spitting contests has arrived once again with the annual Pilger Pumpkin Festival to be held on September 28.

This week the Battlefords Art Club meeting was attended by a very select few. But we managed to enjoy ourselves with laughter and lot sof creative sharing as well as helpful exchanges of various kinds.
