Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 60 calls for service between 6 a.m. Sunday, April 5 and 6 a.m. Monday, April 6.
Sunday
• Report of a white 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty with licence 508 JFH stolen from St. Laurent Drive some time between 8 p.m. April 4 and noon April 5.
• Hit and run reported at 530 p.m. at intersection of 15th Avenue and 110th Street. Suspect vehicle ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle before fleeing the scene. Complainant vehicle had two young children who were treated for minor injuries. Subsequent investigation later identified the driver. A 14-year-old was arrested and is facing charges which include failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
Monday
• Report of a theft of items from a vehicle made shortly after midnight from the 1200 block of 111th Street.
• A 20-year-old man is facing a charge of assaulting a police officer after a report of an intoxicated man causing problems at a residence on the 900 block of 109th Street at 1 a.m. The suspect was arrested after a brief struggle. The member was not injured during the incident.
• Break and enter to a business on Thatcher Avenue reported shortly after 7 a.m., believed to have occurred between 5 p.m. April 4 and 6 a.m. April 6.
• Report made at 8 p.m. of a theft of items from a vehicle while parked on the 2000 block of 101st Crescent sometime between 11 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. April 6.
• Police called to a residence on the Sweetgrass First Nation shortly after 9 p.m. in response to a report of an injured male requiring medical attention. A man suffering head and facial injuries was located on scene and transported to hospital. The man and two other adult men on scene were all heavily intoxicated. The victim was treated and has since been released and has not been co-operative with investigators. Investigation is ongoing.
• Break and enter to a residence reported on the Mosquito First Nation at 10:30 p.m. Television reported stolen. Occurred sometime between April 5 and 6.
• 30-year-old man arrested and facing charges of Impaired driving, driving while over .08 and driving while disqualified after a vehicle stop on 26th Street in Battleford at approximately 10:30 p.m.
• Vehicle reported stolen from the 1300 block of 111th Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Vehicle located a short time later by members and three youths, all 14, arrested without incident. All three are facing charges in relation to the theft.
Police also arrested nine people for alcohol related offences, responded to five false or nuisance 911 calls, investigated six traffic matters, four bylaw complaints and 10 disturbance calls, investigated two Child Welfare Act complaints and two minor collisions. One alarm was responded to and two missing persons were reported who have already been located.
