18-year-old charged with assault

North Battleford RCMP responded to 88 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Dec, 5 and 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Police are seeking information into the following incidents:

Friday

• Vehicle parked on the 1000 block of 110th Street had a window damaged some time overnight.

• Report of a two-vehicle collision on 17th Avenue at 12:40 p.m. after one of the vehicles reported tried to evade a couple of crows standing on the street and struck another vehicle. One driver facing charges under the Traffic Safety Act, including driving while suspended.

• A Chevrolet Cobalt with Saskatchewan License 192 JNF was stolen from the 1700 block of St. Laurent Drive at approximately 8 p.m. while the driver was unloading groceries. 

• A 64-year-old male was arrested and is now facing charges of impaired driving and driving over .08 after a vehicle stop on Highway 4 entering North Battleford shortly after 11 p.m. 

Saturday

• Police were called to a residence on the 1300 block of 107th Street after a report of an assault at 3:40 a.m.  The female victim was transported to hospital and treated for injuries to her face and head. A 23-year-old man was arrested on this matter on Monday, Dec. 8 and charges are currently pending for assault and sexual assault.  He has since been released from custody on several conditions including no contact with the alleged victim.

• Complaint of a certified patient having left care at 6 p.m.  An 18-year-old man was located and found to be in violation of conditions of his probation order, arrested and charged for breach of probation and held in custody until Monday  for his first court appearance.

• Shoplifting complaint at 7:30 p.m. from a business on the 1700 block of 100th Street, a man was reported to have stolen a pre-packaged sandwich and fled the store.

• Police located two individuals fighting on the 1600 block of 100th Street at 11:50 p.m.  One male  remained on scene when police approached and was cooperative with his information while being detained for causing a disturbance. The second male tried to leave and refused to comply with direction and was arrested for causing a disturbance.  He then resisted arrest and when taken into custody was found to be in possession of marijuana. He is facing charges of causing a disturbance, resisting arrest and possession of marihuana.  He has since been released from custody pending a first appearance in court in January.

Sunday

• A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with breach of probation when found intoxicated at a residence on 16th Avenue at 12:30 am.  He was remanded in custody until Monday, Dec. 8 for his first court appearance.

• A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking when found intoxicated and at a residence on the 700 block of 110th Street in violation of his curfew after 1 a.m. He was remanded in custody until Monday, Dec. 8 for his first court appearance.

• A break and enter to a garage on the 1700 block of 104th Street was reported. It's  believed to have occurred some time over the previous four days. A generator has been reported stolen.

• Report of mischief to a business on the 1100 block of 101st Street, a chair reported damaged and garbage thrown about. 

• Police are investigating a report of a male who was located suffering what are believed to be non-serious injuries from an assault shortly before 5 a.m.  He was located walking around on Railway Avenue East and was treated for facial injuries. At this time no charges are being pursued due to a lack of cooperation from the victim.

Monday

• Police responded to a residence on Winder Crescent after a call of a male assaulting a female shortly after 3 am. A 40-year-old man was arrested on scene and is facing one count of assault. 

Over the noted time period, North Battleford RCMP also made nine arrests relating to alcohol offences. Other investigations included two false or nuisance 911 calls, eight municipal bylaw investigations, 123 disturbance calls, four child welfare or custody investigations, three alarms, nine traffic investigations, three reported missing persons all located, four minor collisions and three Mental Health Act investigations.
