North Battleford building permit values are off to a good start in 2012, building on the torrid pace that was set the previous year.
Five permits for $5,960,000 were issued in January, which compares to the eight permits issued for $1,774,000 the previous year.
Making up the total are two residential alterations for $33,000, one industrial alteration for $105,000 and two new industrial building permits for $5,822,000.
The bulk of the permit values was made up by the new industrial permit for $5,192,000 to AB Smith Holdings Ltd. and TJ Moe Mldgs Ltd of Regina.
The numbers were submitted by City Building Inspector Jerry Wintonyk.
